 (General Info.)

The General Assembly Committee created in 1945 under the Charter of the United Nations the main purpose is to maintain world peace. It is the main deliberative, policymaking and representative organ of the UN. The General Assembly (GA) continues to encourage world peace to prevent another catastrophe like the Second World War. It is the main body of the United Nations, and all of the 193 members of the UN have a vote. The decisions on important questions, such as those on peace and security, admission of new members, and budgetary matters, require a two-thirds majority. Other decisions on question require a simple majority.
